HOW TO USE YOUR LEGAL BENEFITS
Step One
Select an attorney. Attorneys listed on our web site have agreed to restrict their fees. Other attorneys may charge a higher rate but will be partially reimbursed by the Plan, with the member responsible for the balance.
Step Two
Fill out the User Agreement. At your first appointment, give the attorney your Legal Services Benefit User Agreement and a blank Case Description form. Print the forms from our web site. You may also request the forms from the administrative office.
Step Three
The attorney will send the invoice, case description and your user agreement to the APEA-AFT Legal Trust office.
Step Four
The administrator pays the attorney and sends a check stub to the member.
